The Geelong Chess Club 2015 Rapid Play Championship concluded on Friday, 31st July, with Michael Sugrue finishing in first place, just half a point ahead of Reza Daneshvar, who came close to defeating Sugrue in the last round.
In turn, no less than four players finished half a point behind Daneshvar; Zoran Babic, Owen Courtis, Geoff Barber and Mio Ristic.
The high standard of play, and close finish, bodes well for a very competitive 2015 Club Championship, which commences on Friday, August 14th.
