The 2018 Geelong Chess Club Qualification Tournament ended in a three way tie with three players on three and a half points. The remaining three qualifiers were not decided until the very last game, with newcomer Dave O’Hanlon holding off Mio Ristic’s king’s side attack to force a draw. O’Hanlon put in a strong performance, and was unlucky not to qualify, falling short by the narrowest of margins.
The top six finishers now go through the 2018 Club Championship, which along with the Reserves Championship, commences on Thursday, 19th July. Please see the Club Championship Qualifier page for final standings.
