Eugene Schon (FM) and Leo Nguyen tied for first place in the 2016 Melbourne Chess Club ANZAC Day Weekender, with a score of 6/7.
The FIDE-registered event attracted 68 entries, including two FIDE Masters, and ran for seven rounds over three days, from Friday 22nd April until ANZAC Day, Monday 25th April.
For Geelong, Reza Daneshvar scored an impressive 5/7 to take out the rating group 2 prize (just one point behind the overall winners). Mio Ristic also performed well to finish on a 50% score of 3.5/7 – well done, guys!
